Psalm 23: 1: “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.”

Giselle's Devotional, home-page, by Giselle.

A few years ago I received this Scripture on a Sunday morning before we went to Church. I did not have enough time to do my regular devotional, but while reading this Scripture I felt that something major had taken place at Church during the week. The first thing that my husband was compelled to do when we walked in to Church was to look at the bulletin. There it was; our Senior Pastor was to leave us within three weeks. What a shock! The Lord, Who is my True personal Shepherd, had gone before me to prepare the way. In His giving me this verse before the Service, He was in fact saying that He has everything under control, and that we needed not be concerned about any area of our lives.

Psalm 32: 8: says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My Eye upon you.” I can say without hesitation that at every crossroad throughout my life, that the Lord has proven Himself more than worthy to be trusted.

I remember another situation many years earlier, where our head Pastor also moved on; it took me well over a year to re-adjust. Many congregation members all around the world have felt this sense of loss at one time or another in their spiritual walk. The wonderful thing to remember is that our Shepherd Jesus will always be our Provider. Psalm 34: 10: says, “The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; but they who seek the Lord will not be in want of any good thing.”

Dearest Holy lord Jesus: thank you so much for not leaving us to fend for ourselves, that You have provided for us at every turn of the way in which You have called us to walk. Thank You for the faithfulness of Your servants who are willing to be led by Your Holy Spirit, in spite of the tearing that will certainly take place in their doing so. Bless all those who are willing to pay the price at all cost for the sake of being directly in the center of Your Will. May You be greatly Glorified today in the Child-like obedience of Your chosen ones. Glory to You alone!
