These words come to us from Moses before his passing away; they are some of the words of testimonies attesting to the Lord’s faithfulness he is speaking and leaving to God’s people, so that they can grasp their own personal trust in the Lord, once he is gone. The Lord gave Moses similar words of encouragement to speak, in Exodus 19: 4 – 6a: saying, “You yourselves have seen what I (God) did to the Egyptians (who were pursuing to destroy), and how I bore you on Eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself (for total protection). Now then if you will indeed obey My Voice and keep My Covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a Kingdom of priests and a Holy nation.”
