What an overwhelming promise we have to meditate upon this morning that the God of Glory is, and wants to be, intimately acquainted with every detail for our lives; in not only giving us the instructions, but also teaching us how to discern and apply those directions.
The Lord’s guidance has been with His people from the very beginning, as He promised that He would give His personal counsel, with His Eye overseeing their journey. In Hebrews 11: 8: we read, “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. “He was called, and went out by faith, not knowing”; how many of us can attest to the fact that we do not always see everything clearly, but know that when we are compelled to answer the Lord’s call by faith, we move out in obedience into unfamiliar territory. The Lord’s goal in leading out His people has always been to get them to the place of their inheritance, which He Himself has stored up for them, as was the case when He led Israel, out of Egypt, into the Promised Land.
This was God’s intention in sending us His Son Jesus, that He would be the instruction and the teaching to where He intended to lead us into the Eternal Land of Promise. 1 Peter 1: 3 – 4: says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,” And Ephesian 1: 11: says, “ Also we have obtained and inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose Who works all things after the Counsel of His Will.”
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank you so very much for the wonderful gift of being the Word made flesh for us, being the instruction and the teaching from God in how we may safely attain our Eternal destination in Heaven. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and draw many to realize the lateness of the times in which we live, and to seek out Jesus as their Salvation. Thank You for confirming Your people today in their walk of faith, that You may be greatly glorified in them receiving of Your Holy promises. Glory to You alone!
