Psalms 56: 4 “In God, Whose Word I praise, in God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid.”

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

In 2 Chronicles 20: 20b we read, “Listen to me, 0 Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the Lord your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His Prophets (Speakers of His Words) and succeed.”
Jesus says in John 7: 17, “If any man is willing to do His (God’s) will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself.” In John 8: 47, Jesus also says, “He who is of God hears the Words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.” Jesus, through His spoken words, is endeavoring to have us recognize that He is speaking God the Father’s Words of life to us.

Many, in His day and still today, do not accept God’s Words for their lives, and therefore fail to have the much needed Anchor which it is. By rejecting Jesus and His Words, they are actually rejecting their Heavenly Maker’s plan for their entire lives. Hosea 4: 6a says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” In order to be obedient to the Word of God, one must first know what it says. So many depend on hearing it from someone else, and do not know whether what they hear is accurate, because they havenot read the Word of God for themselves.

Isaiah 55: 8a says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.” In order for us to be sure that our lives align with the Word of God, we must turn from our own frame of thought, which is sometimes set in cement, and ask the Lord to impart to us the truth of His Word and ways. 2 Chronicles 7: 14 says, “If  My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Allowing the Lord to let His Word lead and guide us produces Divine intervention in our lives. Jeremiah 1: 12 says, “Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My Word to perform it.” Hebrews 4: 12 says, “For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: We thank You for the wonderful gift of Your Life-Sacrifice for us, which has unlocked the Word of God to perform its purpose in our lives. May Your Holy Spirit draw many to discover, and re-discover the awesome beauty and Power of Your wonderful Holy Word. May You be greatly glorified today in the fulfillment of the Words in which You have caused your people to place their trust and hope. Glory to You alone!
