I remember John chapter fourteen as being one of the first Scriptures that I ever read after Salvation. I could not believe that all these promises were here for me, and that I had never read them. I just had to continue reading this chapter over, and over, for at least a couple of years, and still do quite often. The more I read these verses the more I cried. To think that Jesus had died for me, and then had returned to Heaven to prepare a place for me is so overwhelming. Jesus’ acts of kindness and love for anyone who would turn and believe in Him still boggle my mind.
Romans 3: 24 + 26b: says, being justified as a gift by His Grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; that He might be just and the Justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Galatians 3: 16: says, “nevertheless, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law; since by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Jesus took a chance on us that we would believe in His Life, Death and Resurrection. He then added this promise to those who did believe, that He would go and prepare a home for each of us, and then return to personally take us back to live and be with Him forever. We can now see how important it is to have faith, and much more important in “Whom” our faith lies.
These words from a hymn come to mind, “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout the Victory. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 8.
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so much for Your precious Holy Promises that give me the Hope of Your soon blessed return. I pray for all who are not ready to meet You, and all those that have let their faith slip away. Please undertake for all who are laborers for Thy Kingdom, that You may strengthen them in Your Precious Holy commitment to fulfill your Promises. Undertake for all the less fortunate all around the world who have no voice, and no hope in You, that they may be drawn unto You by Your Holy Spirit. Glory to You alone!
