As I receive the promise that I have from the Lord in this verse, it dispels all concerns that could arise for the uncertainties of the future. The Lord guaranties to go before me and to make the rough places smooth; places that I might find difficult, and maybe even impossible to surmount. He also promises to shatter doors that are impregnable, and completely shut out and locked out against me. Only the Lord in His All-mightiness and compassion is able to act on my behalf in such a way. I am constantly amazed to see that when I arrive at the things which I had thought to be impossible yesterday, God, in His marvelous Grace, has already taken care of it for me.
Hebrews 13: 8: says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.” As I choose to have my faith immersed in “Who” Jesus is, and in His complete faithfulness, all limitlessness and barriers find themselves removed. God is so good, faithful, and kind, to be mindful of all specific and tiny details.
On January 4, 1999, was the closing date on our home. The night before it started to snow, and by morning there were several inches on the ground. We woke up early, as we had to be out by 1 pm. As I looked out the window and saw the snow, I thought that we would be set back somewhat, as we had a 75 foot driveway to clear. To my total amazement, at 6am someone began to plow our driveway. We thought for sure that they had the wrong address. Unknown to us, the Lord moved upon a young man who had helped us pack the van. He later tells us, that at 2am the Lord woke him up to call his father-in-law to come remove the snow, and make sure we were able to get on our way.
Somehow, as it continued to snow heavily, having to travel almost two hundred miles, we were able to make it safely to our destination, and when we got there, the driveway was cleared as well. What a marvelous God we serve. Isaiah 65: 24: says, “It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”
Dearest Lord Jesus: thank you so much for Your mind-boggling faithfulness to us. Thank You for seeing the need even before we have one, and for providing the answer to that need. Psalms 139: 3: says, “Thou dost scrutinize my path and my lying down, and art intimately acquainted with all my ways.” May You be greatly Glorified today in the myriad testimonies to Thy Faithfulness. Glory to You alone!
