Psalm 37: 5: “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it.”

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

I love to read this verse in particular in the Amplified version, as it says, “Commit your way to the Lord (roll and repose each care of your load on Him); trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.”  In a similar quote, Proverbs 3: 5: says, “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.” Psalm 55: 22: says, “Cast your burden upon the Lord (releasing the weight of it) and He will sustain you; He will never allow the (consistently) righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).”  How reassuring it is to know that the Lord undertakes for all we place into His Hands.

Psalm 138: 8a: says, “The Lord will accomplish (perfect) what concerns me.”  Psalm 57: 2: says, “I will cry to God most High, to God Who accomplishes all things for me (Who performs on my behalf and rewards me) (Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them).” Psalm 68: 19: says, “Blessed be the Lord, Who daily bears our burden (and Who carries us day by day), the God Who is our Salvation.”

Philippians 1: 6: says, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus (right up to the time of His return) developing that good work and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.”  The Lord says to us in Isaiah 55: 11: “So shall My Word be that goes out of My Mouth; it shall not return to Me void (without producing any effect), but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank you so very much for the full assurance of Your Word which gives us implicit promises of Your undertaking for us in every area of our lives. Thank You for being committed to accomplish all that concerns us. Thank You that You are more than trustworthy, that we may also declare as in Psalm 92: 1 + 2: “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing Praises to Thy Name O Most High; to declare Thy Lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness by night.” Glory to You alone!
