How many of us remember the insecurity of our childhood, as we wandered away from the security of our comfort zone? Sad to say there are so many people who have never been able to return, or never felt secure since. All the more, this personal Word from the Lord today gives us such a sense of affirmation and identity. He is the Lord Our God (our personal Creator who fashioned us individually, and loves us), He upholds our right hand (enabling us to hold on, and to keep a firm and steady pace). He tells us not to fear, because if He is with us, nothing can harm us.
Isaiah 49: 15 – 16 says, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed (carved) you on the Palms of My Hands; your walls (Salvation) are continually before me.” Exactly where the Lord has the imprint of the nails in His Hands is where He has carved a place for us to be; being one with Him.
Isaiah 40 – 11 says, “Like a Shepherd He will tend His Flock, in His Arm He will gather the lambs, and carry them in His Bosom; He will gently lead the nursing ewes.”Psalm 78: 52 – 53 says, “But He led forth His own people like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock; And He led them safely, so that they did not fear; but the sea engulfed their enemies.”
Romans 8: 31 – 32 says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?” 2 Chronicles 20: 6b: says, “Power and Might are in Thy Hand so that no one can stand against Thee.”
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so very much for Your tender Loving-care for Your very own. Thank You that You know us like no other, and that Your righteous right Hand of Power has no rival, no matter what the opposition. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and undertake for all who are vulnerable today to the deception of the temporal. Enable them to be anchored in the Rock of Ages, so that they can receive a new found stability and strength. Glory to You alone!
