Psalm 45: 7: Thou hast Loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God, Thy God, has anointed Thee with the oil of joy above Thy fellows.

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

Hebrews 1: 8 – 9 says, But of the Son (Jesus) He says, “Thy throne, 0 God, is forever and ever, and Thy righteous Scepter is the Scepter of His Kingdom (of justice and straightforwardness). In these verses, we see God’s anointing of Jesus with joy above everyone else, because of His love for righteousness, and hatred for wickedness. I think about the joy a new- born child brings, in all his or her innocence and beauty. True joy is always associated with love, innocence and purity. The moment it is tarnished by sin it immediately loses its luster and beauty. It also brings pain and devastation to all those affected. This is why Jesus made Himself available to remove the stain of sin upon our lives, so that we might again taste the awesome bliss of total innocence. Romans 6: 22 – 23 says, “But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

It is plain to see from the events that transpire daily around the world, what the difference between the fruit of righteousness and wickedness truly are. 1 John 1: 5 – 6 says, “And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.” God hated sin so much because of what it did to His creation that He was willing to send His only Son to die, in order that we might be removed from its grip. Hebrews 10: 14 + 17 says, “For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. And their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

1 Peter 1:  3 – 5 and 6a + 8c say, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice…with joy unspeakable and full of glory.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: Thank You so much for restoring Joy to us. Without Your sacrifice all of us would have remained in despair and darkness, never to know the slightest hope for anything. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and move mightily upon the hearts of those who travail in the depths of despair, and give them understanding of Your plan for Salvation. You came to give us life and that more abundantly, and may You break through the barriers raised up against its fulfillment. Glory to You alone!
