I remember vividly many years ago now, of an overwhelming experience which gives a great example of waiting patiently for the Lord. We had sold our home, and had ninety days to purchase another one. Two weeks before we had to move, around Christmas time no less, with four of our six children, the house packed, we still had not found a house. There were very few people we knew who believed we would find a house before the closing date. Everything around us screamed, “It’s not going to happen.”
But my husband and I had prayed in the spring, before we put the house for sale, that it would not sell until the other house we were to purchase would be ready. Knowing that God honors faith, and answers prayers, there was not even a thought that we would end up in a hotel for six months, as some of our friends suggested.
We not only found our home, but we were able to get a sixteen-day possession date, which is unheard of. You see, the people were still living in the home we bought, with all their unpacked possessions, and they had to purchase a home, and to move as well. What an awesome miracle! Glory to God alone! Psalm 37 – 5 says,” Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it (realize that I have undertaken for you).”Proverbs 3: 5 – 6: says, “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct, and make straight and plain, your paths.”
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank you so very much for the opportunity to share of Your mind-boggling faithfulness to me with others today, that their faith might be edified. I thank You for all those who have edified my faith throughout the years, and have remained faithful to You. Strengthen us to wait patiently, until we see the fulfillment of Your precious Holy promises to us. Glory to You alone!
