Psalm 36: 9: For with Thee is the Fountain of Life; in Thy Light we see Light.

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

God’s Word does not leave any room for discussion as to why some live in abundant life, while others pine away in the doldrums  (sluggish state in which no development or improvement occurs) of their own ways. We all know that there are times of difficulties for all; but those who have their hope fixed on Jesus have their hearts upheld through the hardest times. For the man who fears the Lord, Psalm 112: 7 –  8a: says, “He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is upheld, he will not fear…”

In direct contrast we read Psalm 107: 10 – 11: saying, “There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in misery and chains, because they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High. But, to our great compassionate God be glory, for the next few verses 13 – 15 say, “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and in the shadow of death, and He broke their bands apart. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His Lovingkindness, and His wonders to the sons of men!

All of us who have turned to the Lord have this testimony, that we cried unto Him, and He heard our prayer, and He delivered us from all our troubles, and has blessed us beyond our greatest expectations.  Psalm 27: 5: says, “For in the day of trouble He (God) will conceal (prevent from being found or known) me in His Tabernacle; in the Secret Place of His Tent He will hide me; He will lift me on a Rock.” We are therefore compelled to share this great news with everyone who will hear, as it is way too good for anyone to keep to oneself alone.

Psalm 36: 7 –  8: says, “How precious is Thy Lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Thy Wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Thy House; and Thou dost give them to drink of the river of Thy delights. Jesus says in John 10: 10: “The thief comes only to steal, and kill and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: Thank you so very much for Your tremendous graciousness toward us who have called upon Your Holy Name for Redemption and Salvation, out of the miry clay where we once found ourselves embroiled. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and anoint Your Servants’ testimonies all over the world, to impart faith within all who may hear, that they also may run to Thee to have their sins forgiven, their thirst quenched, and their Eternal Salvation secured. Glory to You alone!
