Psalm 118: 24: “This is the day which the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

There is no other day like today; all our yesterdays are behind us, and we are not assured of tomorrow; so every moment of this day is a very precious gift from the Lord. It is the day which the Lord has made afresh, with new perspectives, designs, beauties, and miracles everywhere we look. And with each new day, all day long, I have a choice to honor and be obedient to the Lord by praising and rejoicing in Him, or not; it is my choice, the Lord will not impose it on me. My Praise is the voice of my faith and trust in God.

Psalm 139: 16: says, “Thine Eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Thy Book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” It is good to note that “days” were written for each one of us, and not “years”.

If we got up this morning and we were able to open our eyes, we are to be so very thankful, as so many are not able to see. And if we can hear, speak, feel, move, walk, eat, smell, read, write, function in any way; how totally privileged we are, as so many do not have some, or all these luxuries. Are you born again, saved from the wrath to come? How overwhelmingly thankful we all should be, as so many, even now, are rejecting His Love. Psalm 103: 2 – 5: says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of his benefits; Who pardons all our iniquities; Who heals all our diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit; Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.” Psalm 63: 3 – 4: says, “Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise Thee, so I will bless Thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Thy Name.”

Micah 7: 18 – 19: says, “Who is a God like Thee, Who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in unchanging Love. He will again have compassion on us; He will tread our iniquities under foot. Yes, Thou wilt cast all their sins into the debts of the sea.”

Habakkuk 3: 17 – 19: says, “Though the fig tree should not blossom, and there be no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive should fail, and the fields produce no food, though the flock should be cut off from the fold, and there be no cattle in the stalls, yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my Salvation. The Lord God is my Strength, and He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, and makes me walk on my high places.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: may we aspire to be faithful at all times, in spite of the sometimes overwhelming circumstances which may come our way. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and comfort all those who mourn, and undertake for all who have sought refuge in You. Come and do for us what we cannot do for ourselves, as we occupy ourselves with praise, and rejoicing in You. Glory to You alone!
