Verses 3 – 5 tell us some of the benefits which we receive from the Lord, “Who pardons all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit; Who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle. What more could anyone ask? To have all our sins blotted out. All our sicknesses healed. We are redeemed from the pits of destruction, to have our lives literally surrounded and crowned with love and compassion for our family and friends, and they for us. To have our entire life satisfied with good and great things, so that our youth is even renewed like that of the strength of an eagle. All this is more than anyone could ever ask for, or deserve.
Our minds are definitely not able to grasp the entire scope of the awesomeness of these promises. What a marvelous place to be, when we are in the center of God’s perfect will for our lives, and what a lopsided exchange for such overwhelming benefits. We give the Lord our poverty, and He gives us His riches in Glory. We give Him our sinfulness, and He covers us with His Holy Blood, which becomes our only righteousness. We give Him all our inabilities, and He opens up to us the unlimitedness of the treasures in Heavenly places. We give Him our brokenness, and He, and our Heavenly Father come and make our hearts their personal habitation. We give Him all our failures and crushed aspirations, and He takes of His Glory and gives us, in Him, immeasurably more than we could ever have asked or dreamed to receive or accomplish.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His Holy Name!! Alleluia!!
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: I am so thankful for wonderful blessings provided for us in You. Truly, no one else could ever love us, or care for us, the way You do. May You be greatly glorified in and through the benefits, which You continually shower upon those who seek refuge in You. Words fail to convey how much I appreciate the loveliness of the Person and Savior You are. Glory to You alone!
