This verse speaks of the great exchange which took place when Jesus took our sufferings and sinfulness upon Himself, giving us of His Divine Calvary riches and attributes. 1 Peter 2: 24 – 25: says, “And He (Jesus) Himself bore our sins in His Body on the Cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.” We see by these verses that the Power to live in victory for the Lord was also released to us, as well as having our lives cleansed from sin.
