The Psalmist David keenly expresses his position as one who belongs to the Lord, especially in Psalm 18: 1 – 2: when he says, “I love you fervently and devotedly, O Lord, my Strength. The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my firm Strength in Whom I will trust and take refuge, my Shield and the Horn of my Salvation, my Stronghold (High Tower).” I don’t think there is any room for debate as to where his allegiance lies, and so should it be for all who profess the Lord as their Savior.
