Jude 20: But you, beloved, building yourself up on your most holy faith; praying in the Holy Spirit

Giselle's Devotional, home-page, by Giselle.

The remainder of the verse in 21 says; “Keep yourselves in the Love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.” This verse, like no other, describes the narrowness of one’s personal responsibility in the midst of surrounding ungodliness, as is written in the Chapter. No one else is going to do it for us. It shows our total dependency upon the Holy Spirit as the Builder of one’s faith, through the obedience of the call to continuous prayer in Him. Jesus foreknew that it would be impossible for us to conquer in any other way but to have the Holy Spirit abiding directly within our lives.

In John 14: 16 + 17: Jesus tells us, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby) that He may remain with you forever- that is the Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. And in John 16: 13 + 14: Jesus says, “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth; He will not speak on His Own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you.” In these verses we can see plainly that the Lord made provision of asking the Father to come to our aid by the Holy Spirit’s inner Presence, even before He had gone away.

Romans 12: 3b: which says, “Think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.” And Jesus also knew that this measure of faith in Him would need to be nurtured, protected, and prayed up, and that only the Holy Spirit’s Power building us up would be sufficient to enable us to be victorious throughout our journey, and on to eternity.

Jude 24 + 25 say, “Now to Him Who is able to keep you from stumbling (slipping, or falling) and to make you stand (present you unblemished, blameless and faultless) before the Presence of His Glory in triumphant joy and exultation (with unspeakable, ecstatic delight) – to the only God and Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord be Glory, Majesty, Dominion, Authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so very much for the overflowing abundance of provision You provided for us through Your Plan of Salvation. We have in You Jesus, in God our Heavenly Father, in the Holy Spirit, all we could ever possibly ever need. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and open our eyes to the Greatness of Your Divine overflow into our lives, and cause us to be eternally grateful for such overwhelming blessings. Glory to You alone!
