This Scripture perfectly describes and captures the essence of what I feel in my heart towards the Word of God. I cannot even begin to imagine what my life would be like without a link to the Source of my very being. The very moment I came into contact with the Word of God after Salvation, I knew I had found the food that my spirit had so very much longed and famished for. Truly Jesus had become to me my personal Immanuel, God with us, God’s Word made flesh within for my survival, victory, and well-being.”
Psalm 119: 11 + 130 + 140: says, “Thy Word have I treasured (hid) in my heart that I may not sin against Thee. The unfolding of Thy Word gives Light; it gives understanding to the simple. Thy Word is very pure, therefore Thy servant loves it.”
John 1: 1 – 4 + 9: says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. There was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.” Here we have Jesus as Word and Light shining into our lives and hearts, so that we need not remain in darkness.
1 John 2: 5 – 6: says, “But whoever keeps His Word, in Him the Love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him; the one who says he abides in Him (Jesus) ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
John 1: 12-14: says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become children of God, even to those who call on His Name (Jesus), who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, Glory as of the only begotten Son from the Father, full of Grace and Truth.”
Job 23: 11 – 12: says, “My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His Way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the command of His Lips; I have treasured the Words of His Mouth more than my necessary food.”
