It is so evident by today’s Scriptures, that we have yet to begin to grasp the fullness of the blessings and inheritance we have as children of God. In verses 17 – 18, Paul says, “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him (Jesus). I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the Glory of His inheritance in the saints,”
Today’s verse accentuates Saint Paul’s attempt to convey God’s Divine Power released to those who believe in Jesus for Salvation. He continues to say in verses 20 – 22, that this Power released toward us, “which He (God) brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right Hand in the Heavenly Places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the age to come. And He (God) put all things in subjection under His Feet, and gave Him (Jesus) as Head over all things in the Church, which is His Body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all.”
In verses 3 – 4 of this Chapter, we also get a glimpse of what the Lord is trying to have us appropriate in Him: it says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the anointed One) Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly Places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him (Jesus) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him.”
This power is so great that it is able to bring about the transforming attributes of Jesus within all who trust Him for Eternal Salvation. Romans 8: 29: confirms this by saying, “For whom He (God) foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son (Jesus), that He might be the first-born among many brethren. We also see the purifying power of God released through faith in 1 John 3: 3: as it says, “And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He (Jesus) is pure.
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: we thank You so very much for the Divine keeping Power which You have released to Your Body the Church, for its victorious living in the midst of unprecedented opposition. Come by Your Precious Holy Spirit, and fill us afresh with the knowledge of Your Supernatural Divine Care which You exercise toward Your very own. May Heavenly boldness be released to all within Your Church who have looked at the surrounding turmoil, rather than at Your All-mightiness. Glory to You alone!
