Hebrews 7: 35 Wherefore He is able to save to the uttermost them that come to God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them (King James Version)

Giselle's Devotional, home-page, by Giselle.

There are some Bible verses, such as this one above, that just have to be quoted from the King James’ Version. What a promise to receive, that Jesus saves us forever and completely when we come to God through Him, and then lives in Heaven praying for us until we see Him again. The Holy Spirit also prays for us, as is written in Romans 8: 26 + 27: “And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for the saints according to the Will of God.” Jesus and the Holy Spirit in agreement together praying for us; what an amazing reality to ponder, and what more powerful lives most Christians would have, if we entered into this Truth.

In Matthew 18: 19: Jesus says, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in Heaven.” Verse 20 says, “For where two or three have gathered in My Name, there I am in their midst.” As born again children of God, Jesus comes to us when we pray in His Name. He brings with Him His gift of intercessory prayer with the Power of the Holy Spirit to bear in our petitions, and in our midst. It is part of the Kingdom Heritage we receive when we acknowledge Jesus’ Lordship over our lives.

Yes, there is a cost to following Jesus, but that cost pales into total insignificance to the glorious benefits we have here on earth, and in Heaven to come. Ephesians 1: 18 + 19: says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling in the saints, and what is the surpassing (exceeding) greatness of His Power that is toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the Strength of His Might.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: I thank You that Your Word is alive and active, and speaks Power when read, thought about, or written. Let the Power of this Word today penetrate our heart and guard it from ever leaving. May it accomplish transformation in all of us, that we may grasp the awesome privileges and inheritance we have in You. Thank You for the unfathomable riches we have in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 3: 8. Glory to You alone!
