John 7: 17: “If any man is willing to do His (God’s) will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself.”

A more expanded version of this verse says, “If any man is willing to do His will (God’s pleasure), he will know (have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself) whether the teaching is from God, or whether I am speaking from Myself and My own accord and on My own authority.” We read in verse 15b – 16: “How is it that this Man (Jesus) has learning (so versed in the sacred Scriptures and in Theology) when He has never studied? Jesus answered them by saying, “My teaching is not My own, but His Who sent Me.” John 8: 28: says, “Jesus therefore said, “When you lift up the Son of Man (Jesus), then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.”1 John 2: 23: says, “Whoever denies the Son (Jesus) does not have the Father (God); the one who confesses the Son Has the Father also.” It is very important to note that Jesus, as in these verses, always reverted to His coming, His words, and His actions, as being those He received directly from the Father, making Himself the Messenger and Fulfillment of the Father’s Divine Will for those who would believe.

We also receive great wisdom from Jesus for discernment in John 7:  18 + 24, as He says, “He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He (Jesus) who is seeking the Glory of the One Who sent Him, He (Jesus) is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” It seems that Jesus may not have appeared as someone who would bring forth God’s Word, because he was not part of the elite scholars of His time. He speaks plainly that God’s messengers will always speak God’s Word, even if they do not always appear to be man’s choice.

We have Jesus’ motive for His coming, given to us in Matthew 9: 9 – 10: Pray in this way, “Our Father Who art in Heaven, Hallowed (Holy, Revered) be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” Jesus tells us that God reigns in Holiness and Reverence in a Heavenly Kingdom, and through Him we can pray God’s Will and Majesty to come and replace man’s fallen ways and governance here one earth; all the more so urgent, as we see what is transpiring around the world.

John 17: 8 + 24: says, “For the words which Thou (God the Father) gavest Me I have given to them; and they received them, and truly understood that I came forth from Thee, and they believed that Thou didst send Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may see My Glory, which Thou hast given Me; for Thou didst love Me before the foundation of the world.” There is an appointed day for the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayers, as in Revelations 11: 15: which says, “And the seventh angel sounded and there arose loud voices in Heaven, saying, “ The Kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord (Jesus), and of His Christ (Anointed One); and He will reign forever and ever.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so much for the Hope of Eternal life, and the anticipation of the new Realm You will soon be ushering forth. Thank You for Your great patience with us, who are so slow to see, and hear what Your Word and your messengers have been saying for so long. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and reveal Yourself in this late hour that many will turn away from the deceptions of the temporal, to accept Your invitation to be part of Your Eternal Kingdom. Glory to You alone!
