Isaiah 48: 3 I declared the former things long ago and they went forth from My Mouth, and I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.

I marvel at all the prophetic Words of Scripture that have come to pass just in my short lifetime. I remember hearing when I was a very young Christian, that there would be a time when we would not have money to do transactions, and not have to go through tellers to do our banking. It was a really disconcerting feeling, because their fulfillment would mean a drawing near to the end of times. And here we are today, with pass cards that debit our bank accounts without even being swiped, voice recognition which allows us access through virtual locked doors, just for a few examples. This technology would have been unthinkable even just a few short years ago.

Jesus in speaking to His disciples about the end of days, tells them in Matthew 24: 32 – 35: “Now learn the parable from the fig tree; when its branch has already become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; even so you too, when you see all these things, recognized that He (Jesus) is near, right at the door. Truly I say to you, this generation (that lives at the time of these fulfillment) will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will not pass away.”

And these are some of the things that Jesus said would transpire before His return, contained within Matthew 24. In verse 25: He says, “Behold, I have told you in advance (He has given us advance notice of all the things that would happen before they happened, so we could identify the time of His return). In verse 4 and on, He says, “See to it that no one misleads you for many will come in My Name, saying, “I am the Christ (anointed one)” and mislead many. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars…nation will rise against nation, kingdom against Kingdom…there will be famines and earthquakes. They will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all on account of My Name. At that time many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise…lawlessness will increase…most people’s love will grow cold.

All we have to do is listen to the latest news broadcast to confirm any given one of these prophetic words. Jesus says in verse 13, “But the one who endures (experiences exertion, pain, or hardship without giving up to the end, survives over a period of time, especially when faced with difficulties) he shall be saved. Revelations 21: 4 – 7: says, “And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall no longer be any death…mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have come to pass. And He who sits on the Throne said, “Behold I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true…It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the springs of the Water of Life without cost. He who overcomes (is victorious) shall inherit all these things, and I will be His God and he shall be My son.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so very much for the absolute confidence we may have in Your Word, as we see its fulfillment before our very eyes. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and fill us afresh with Your Thoughts, and Your Holy Ways and discernment, that we may not fall into the error and deception of what is displeasing in Your Sight. Thank You for Your overcoming Power to endure to the end, till we see You Face to face. Glory to Yo alone!
