The Lord had been very gracious to me. As far back as I can remember, all I can see is His Mercy, Love, and Grace upon my life, and I am so very thankful. Lamentations 3: 21 – 23 says, “This I recall to mind, therefore I have hope. The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail, they are new every morning; Great is Thy faithfulness.” Although admonished in Philippians 3: 13 – 14, to forget what lies behind, and press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, it is also as important to remember the wonderful testimonies, blessings, and interventions of the Lord on our behalf. My husband and I have often taken time to recount the Lord’s miracles in our lives, and without fail, our faith wells up to overflowing within us. It is also overwhelming to read of the things which the Lord has done for us, and spoken to us from our daily written accounts.
The Lord cares about the smallest things. One such example is that one year in the spring, our furnace motor broke. Since we did not need to have heat until the next fall, I began to praise God every day for a furnace motor. We could have gone out and just bought one of course, at full cost, but we love to see the Lord act on our behalf, and would not want to discontinue our total dependency upon Him. By late summer, I was still thanking the Lord for this motor. In early fall, I happened to go to an auction, where mostly carpentry materials were offered up for sale. Since I was only interested in a few items inside the garage, I paid little or no attention to what was happening outside. However, not able to see what was being bid on, I asked the auctioneer. He responded by saying, “a motor.” The bid was $7.00, and I felt that even if it was not what we needed, the price was right. I ended up getting a brand new, unused motor with fan, mounted within a frame for $15.00, and still did not know if we could use it for anything. When my husband joined me after work, he assured me that the motor was the right one, but was not sure about the frame. It ended up that the fan and frame on our furnace were bent, and needed replacement as well. The brand new, mounted frame, with fan and motor, were the exact serial number to our furnace; it slid right into place, with four bolts to secure it.
Now if He cares about such a minor thing, how much more does He care to supply the things which really matter unto Eternal Salvation!
Dearest Lord Jesus: You always know exactly what we need, and You are never at a loss from where and when the supply comes. Thank You so much for being interested in the tiniest details of our lives. Thank You for the joy You also have in providing for your children who are dependent upon You. What a joy to have answers to prayers that only You know about, and what a joy to share of Your faithfulness with others, that they also might enjoy the fruit of Thy Lovingkindness and Faithfulness. Glory to You alone!
