The words of the chorus to this song come to mind, as I read today’s Scriptures, “Drinking at the Springs of Living Waters, happy now am I, my soul is satisfied. Drinking at the Springs of Living Waters, a wonderful and bountiful supply.” Psalms 46: 4, says, “There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the Holy Dwelling of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.”
As we invite Jesus to come and fill us daily with His Holy Spirit, we are blessed with, and can draw from within, a bountiful supply of the rivers of life without end. Acts 1: 8 says, “But you shall receive Power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses… ..and even to the remotest parts of the earth.” God fills us with the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that others may also have the same opportunity of knowing His goodness.
Isaiah 12: 3 says, “Therefore you will joyously draw water from the springs of Salvation.” Isaiah 44: 3 says, “For I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams of water on the dry ground; and I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring; and My blessing on your descendants;” Transformed from being naturally self-centered, to having our eyes and hearts opened and directed toward the purposes of God’s intentions. 2 Peter 3: 9 says; “The Lord is not slow about His Promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: Thank You so much that in You our Source of life never runs dry. Today, I can say with the Psalmist, “All my springs of joy are in you. Psalms 87: 7b” . May You continue to unfold Your Holy Will and direction in our lives, and may we have our eyes opened to the opportunities of sharing with others the unfathomable riches in Jesus. Glory to You alone!
