Romans 10:17 says, “So Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ” (Jesus the Anointed One). The Words of Jesus are the seeds which come into our hearts to build up the measure of Faith, given to us by God the Father. For God has allotted to each a measure of faith, as is written in Romans 12: 3b.
It is obvious by the parable Jesus shares about the seed sown on the four different kinds of soil, that we have the responsibility to guard and ensure the well-being of the seeds from the Word of God. Many people have their eyes on the magnitude of their surroundings, rather than on the greatness of God. The seeds sown into our hearts from the Words of Jesus are meant to grow into the very building blocks that will sustain our entire life. The worries of this world and the riches of life are a common denominator that everyone ever born has, or will encounter. No one is exempt from the temptation of letting them affect their lives.
Jesus tells us that if we allow the situations that surround us to be magnified above His Word, that His Word will become unfruitful in our lives, and will not perform what it was intended to do.
When we read the Words of Jesus daily, seeds are planted, and with careful watch over our hearts, a harvest will ensue. We are to see our hearts as the garden of the Lord, and must tend to it as any other gardens are tended to. It is our responsibility to weed out anything that would try to take precedence over the source by which our faith receives nourishment. Isaiah 55: 11 says, “So shall My Word be which goes forth from My Mouth; it shall not return to me empty without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
Jeremiah 1: 12 says, Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I watch over My Word to perform it.” The Words of Jesus will accomplish their purpose, whether we receive and tend to them, or not. John 3: 17 – 18 says, “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.”
Jesus says in John 12: 48, “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My sayings (Words), has One who judges him; the Word that I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.” Hebrews 4: 12 says, “For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Dearest Lord Jesus: Thank You so much for showing me the importance of Your Word (s) in my life. I pray that many, trapped in the closet of their minds, with the cares of the world and deceptions of riches, will be set free today at hearing Your Word in Faith. May You come and perform that for which Your Holy Word was sent in our hearts to do. May You, through Your Word, fulfill the purpose for which we are created, and may You continue to usher forth Your Kingdom and the fulfillment of Your Holy spoken Word. Glory to You alone!
