2 Corinthians 12: 9: “And He said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, will rather I glory (boast) in my infirmities (weaknesses), that the Power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

I am so thankful for this verse in particular, because it shows me the Graciousness of God in so many ways. As a young mother, with many children dependent upon me, I remember trying to be strong for them in my own strength, to no avail. Jesus led me to this “life changing” verse in my life, as I prayed to the Lord in desperation, knowing that I needed to impart into my children so much more than I had to offer, I began quoting it repeatedly, and sometimes at the top of my voice when a need arose. God in His faithfulness gave me a melody in my heart for this verse which eventually became the song that I have recorded for others like myself, who need the Lord’s strength.

Though time has passed this Scripture song takes on new life in the different trials that I am permitted to go through. It never ceases to amaze me how powerful and true, and sustaining it is that the Lord’s Power is perfected in weakness. I am able to go in the Strength of the Lord and in the Power of His Might because He ordained that I should so walk in Him. The moment I endeavor to try something in my own strength, I am sure to see the futile results. In the spring as I look at the tiny new leaves peering out on the branches of the trees, I see the effortlessness with which it all happens, and how marvelous it all is; so it is with those who live in, and through Jesus.

In John 15: 4 + 5: it says, Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. The result being that in verse 7: Jesus says, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you. What a wonderful God we serve, that He gives total provision and protection, by having us live in Himself.

Dearest Lord Jesus: I thank You for taking all the struggle out of life for us, as You lead us to living in You. Thank You that You have always intended Your Life to flow through us, and that apart from You, we are devoid of the simplest attributes, which You alone can impart. Undertake for all those who need to enter in to the truth of your Holy Word today, that they may find rest for their whole being. Glory to You alone!
