Mathew 1: 21: “And she will bear a Son; and you shall call His Name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins.”

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

This Scripture speaks very plainly to all mankind throughout history that the Lord came to save us from our sins, not with them, as many in this day would try to insinuate. The following Scriptures also speak very plainly about Who Jesus is as God’s Son, and the role He personally came to fulfill here in our midst.

Being that all Prophesies of His first coming have been fulfilled, we must also eagerly anticipate the imminent fulfillment of those yet to be demonstrated before our eyes. Mathew 1: 22 + 23:  says, “And it took place that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with Child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His Name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”

In Luke 1: 31 – 35b: the angel in speaking to Mary says, “You will conceive in your womb, and bear a Son, and you shall Name Him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the Throne of His Father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His Kingdom will have no end.” The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the Power of the Most High will over shadow you; and for that reason the Holy offspring shall be called the Son of God.”

In Luke 1: 67 – 71 + 74b – 75: we read, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited us and accomplished redemption for His people, and has raised up a Horn of Salvation for us in the house of David His servant—As He spoke by the mouth of the prophets of old—Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us;..might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.” In Luke 3: 34: we read, “And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and for a Sign to be opposed— and a sword will pierce even your own soul—to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.”

Isaiah 9: 6 – 7: says, “For a child will be born unto us, a Son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His Shoulders; and His Name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The Zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.”

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so very much for Your unfailing Word; it is ever settled in Heaven and cannot be undone, and will never pass away. Psalm 119: 89.  May Your Holy Spirit impart to us today the Fear of the Lord in knowing that what You have decreed will come to pass, and that we should be a people prepared for Your return. Glory to You alone!
