Our ultimate joy will be fulfilled when we behold the Lord Face to face, and as promised by Jesus Himself in verse 22, it will be forever. “Therefore you too now have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one takes your joy away from you.”
1 Peter 1: 6 – 9: says, “In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with Joy inexpressible and full of Glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the Salvation of your souls.”
John 14: 18 – 19: says, “I will not leave you orphans (comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless); I will come to you. After a little while the world will behold Me no more; but you will behold Me; because I live, you shall live also.” Jesus says in John 12: 26 + 46 + 48 – 50: “If anyone serves Me, let Him follow Me; and where I am, there shall My servant also be; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. I have come as Light into the world, that everyone who believes in me may not remain in darkness. For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Who sent Me has given Me commandment what to say, and what to speak. And I know that His commandment is Eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”
In John 17: 24: Jesus expresses some of the Father’s and His Heart’s Desires, as He prays, “Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold My Glory, which Thou hast given Me; for Thou didst love Me before the Foundation of the earth. And in 1 Thessalonians 4: 17 – 18: it says, “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: there is nothing we could ever ask You that could possibly give us greater joy than that of Salvation; personal, and for all for whom we pray. Come by Your Holy Spirit with the Fear of the Lord, to give us understanding that rejection of our Heavenly Father’s plan for Salvation through Your Life’s Ultimate Sacrifice will result in eternal separation from Thy Presence. May You encourage many today to complete surrender to Your Will, that all should repent and come to Salvation, in Jesus Name! Glory to You alone!
