In an amplified version of this verse, it reads, “The Lord also will be a Refuge and High Tower for the oppressed, a Refuge and a Stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation). And verse 10 says, “And they who know Your (God’s) Name (who have experienced and have acquaintance with Your mercy) will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of, and for) You (on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity).” There are so many of us who can attest to the truth of these verses, and yet, so many who spend their lifetime getting back in to their daily routine, without ever having known the Glory of being kept by God. In Isaiah 40: 29 – 31: we read, “He (God) gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He (God) increases strength (causing it to multiply and making it abound). Even youths shall faint and be weary, and (selected) young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” Here we see the Power of God’s intervention and transformation into his peoples’ lives at the…
