There is much to be said all through the Word of God about the power of agreement and unity. It is a principle that has to be recognized before any goal is set, and it applies to every area of life. One only has to look at sports for an example; the relationship between a coach and his team, or that of the rowing members in a race; all have to be in synch for the best possible result, and the hope of a win. Jesus is very specific when He speaks about this subject, as He makes His Father God and Himself the focal point on which people have to come in agreement in order to have complete and overcoming victory in life’s journey. He says of the unity of a man and a woman in Matthew 19: 6: “Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” The emphasis being that what God has joined together becomes a unity, and a source of victory for the pair, by drawing and bringing from the Lord their individual contributions to make their bond stronger. Jesus further speaks to us in Matthew 18: 19: “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father Who is in Heaven.
