The main reason why I began sharing this daily devotional is that I felt that I needed to share with my friends some of the Scriptures and testimonies that had truly blessed and strengthened me throughout the years. Some of these friends happen to be single moms, while others are struggling with a completely different set of circumstances. I remember distinctly the Lord speaking to my heart in the late seventies saying, “If My people are dying of one thing, it is for lack of affirmation”. It is so important that we encourage one another in these perilous and difficult times in which we live. As I re- read some of the pages I have written, I am amazed how God lifts my spirit to see that His grace has allowed me to make myself available as an edifier. The point of agreement with someone is so important. Just being there for others, and having someone there for you, is sometimes what keeps us going for another day, and ultimately to our final destination. The influence one has in his or her lifetime is a tremendous responsibility. Most people in today’s society are not focused on the needs of those around them. Mostly it is on, “What is in it for me?” Verse 2 tells us, “For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;…
