Jesus says in John 14: 1 – 3: “Let not your heart be troubled (distressed, agitated); believe (and adhere to, trust in, and rely on) in God, believe also (adhere to, trust in and rely on) in Me. In My Father’s House are many dwelling places (homes); if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a Place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” When I first read this Scripture I cried till I didn’t think I could ever have any more tears, and kept on crying for years, every time I read it. To think that Jesus had taken an interest in me personally, and was actively preparing a place for me in eternity, was too much to grasp.
Jesus further speaks to His Father God of His desire concerning us, in His prayer in John 17: 24: saying, “Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold My Glory, which Thou hast given Me before the foundation of the world.”
Revelations 21: 1 – 7: says, “And I saw a new Heaven and a new earth; for the first Heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the Throne, saying, “Behold, the Tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them, and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; and there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. And He Who sits on the Throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, Write, for these words are faithful and true.” And He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give to the one who thirsts from the springs of the water of life without cost. He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be His God, and He will be My son.”
Revelation 21: 11a + 16b + 18 – 19 + 21 – 22 “having the Glory of God. Her (the City of God) brilliance was like a very costly stone…measured the city fifteen hundred miles, its length, width, height, are equal… And the material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold…the foundation adorned with every kind of precious stone. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, the street of the city was pure gold… the Lord God Almighty, and the Lamb (Jesus), are its Temple:” No wonder the Lord requires all of our lives, the reward of eternal life is so far above anything we could ever imagine, or even begin to think.
Heaven is a prepared place of unimaginable beauty and Glory. It is for those who choose to go there, as simply as one cannot become part of a race, without first signing up. And as those who desired a better Heavenly Country, believing in Jesus as our redeeming Lord is the only way to get there.
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus; thank You so much for making Your Word so readily available for all to embrace. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and draw all who may have been sitting on the fence of indecision, to see the great cost that Jesus paid for our Salvation, but also the Great eternal gift that You have provided for all who overcome earthly temporal hindrances of any kind. Glory to You alone!
