Nahum 1: 7: “The Lord is Good, a Stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who take Refuge in Him.”

Giselle's Devotional, by Giselle.

I am so glad this morning for this Scripture that tells me that the Lord knows me, as I take refuge in Him. So many circumstances in life make us feel inadequate and unsure; but that the Lord recognizes us immediately, as we take refuge in Him dispels everything else as unimportant.

I may not be as gifted, and in the same way as someone else; and I may not be as eloquent or exuberant as others may be. But to know that I am accepted by the One Who truly matters is nothing short of phenomenal. With all my imperfections and needs, with all the work that still needs to be done within me; what a breath of fresh air that God knows it all. As well, that as I come to Him, He activates change within and gives me the courage to continue in His Grace and Mercy. 2 Timothy 2: 19: says, “The Lord knows those who are His. Psalm 1: 6: “He knows the way of the righteous.” Psalm 37: 18: “He knows the way of the blameless.”

So today we can leave it all with Him, gaining our confidence from having the Holy Spirit Himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Romans 8: 16.  We will not always be understood by everyone; we will not always be accepted by all; and our gifts and calling will not necessarily be recognized by some or possibly most; but that the Lord knows, loves and accepts us, and that our accountability is reverted to Him, is ultimately all that matters.

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus, thank you so very much for the Holy Spirit’s witness to our spirit that we are Yours. The world has so many saying so many different things, that unless we have You as our constant Source of Refuge, we would soon lose hope, and our sense of direction. Thank You Jesus for the infinite Love and support You continually place before us. Bless Your Holy Name today and always! Glory to You alone!
