Any of us looking back, at our childhood in particular, have to admit the complete vulnerability, weakness and often silliness that permeated our lives. Some of us can still see some of these earliest traits to this day. The greatest personal proof to me of God’s All-Mightiness is the witness of His transformation in my own life.
In Isaiah 43: 10: the Lord says, “You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know that I am He.” Fragile and frail, with a heart and mind set mostly on our own agendas, the Lord through His Grace and Mercy invites us to answer the call of Salvation. I know that before I came to the Lord, just a disapproving look, or comment could sometimes overwhelm me. As I look at the mountains of adversities and difficulties that I have conquered and traversed through life, I know that only the Lord’s empowerment enabled me to do so. I can also see the Power of His Love instilled into my heart to forgive; firstly for myself, and then to all who have been a source of offense to me.
It is also a marvel to me that as we bring all our thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Jesus Christ, that He gives us the soundness of mind for every situation that could arise in our life. 2 Corinthian 10: 5: says, “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ.” The Lord gave me this verse as an answer to prayer over thirty years ago.
Ephesians 6: 17b: says that “the Word of God is the Sword of the Holy Spirit.” As we use God’s Word as a Sword to do battle on our behalf, all afflictions and oppression have to flee by the Power of the Holy Spirit Who undertakes the battles for us. May we not hesitate to make today’s verse our very own for whatever need we may have; it is God’s gift-instrument to us for our daily victory.
Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: I am so thankful for all you have ever done for me. Thank You for the transforming Power of Your Holy Word, as we apply it to our lives. I pray for all those who have a need to see You perform Your Word on their behalf. Please give us the assurance of Your constant Love and care in all areas of our life, and that You personally watch over Your Holy Word to perform it on behalf of all who place their trust in You (Jeremiah 1: 12). Glory to You alone!
