For those of us who have been Christians for many years, we can attest that this \u201csteadfast prolonged faith\u201d in the Lord often-times has come through enduring many difficult situations and trials. As we think of years past in comparison to this day, it is not hard to see why perseverance in some may not be easily identifiable. A farmer had to persevere (some still do) behind his cultivator pulled by animals in order for him to get any type of harvest; today, most multinational companies have combines that gather vast areas of produce within hours, which in yesteryear would have taken forever<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I remember as a very young child an impression that came over me that the whole meaning of life was to overcome the battle that would rage against my faith in Jesus for Eternal Life. And so it has proven to be true in more ways that could ever be shared. Psalm 11: 5: says, \u201cThe Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His Soul hates.\u201d Proverbs 17: 3: \u201cThe refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests hearts.\u201d Psalm 66: 10: says, \u201cFor Thou hast tried us, O God; Thou hast refined us as silver is refined.\u201d Jesus says in Matthew 24: 13: \u201cBut the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved.\u201d And in Luke 21: 17 – 19: Jesus says, \u201cAnd you shall be hated by all on account of My Name. Yet not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.\u201d \u00a0We know from these Scriptures that the Lord is deliberately seeking for a person\u2019s integrity and right standing with Him, or lack thereof.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Romans 5: 1 – 5 + 8 – 9: says, \u201cTherefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this Grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the Glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulations bring about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the Love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who was given us. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ (Jesus) died for us. Much more then, having been justified by His Blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him (Jesus).\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1 Thessalonians 5: 8 – 10: says, \u201cBut since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation, for God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that whether we are awake (alive) or asleep (passed away), we may live together with Him.\u201d James 1: 2 – 3: says, \u201cConsider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials (of any sort), knowing that the testing (proving) of your faith produces endurance (steadfastness and patience). And let endurance have its perfect result (do a thorough work), that you may be perfect (fully developed, with no defects) and complete, lacking nothing.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so much for the great pains which You have taken with us all these years, to keep us true to Yourself. Thank you for Your overwhelming promises of keeping us from the wrath that has been appointed. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and draw many to the knowledge of the severity of Your anger that will be displayed upon all who choose to ignore Your tender Love and mercy, while there is still time. Come and strengthen all those who believe to see Thy soon-to-be revealed Salvation, that they may not faint and lose hope.
