What a tremendous loss for a father to lose the youngest of his three sons, and what an eternal impact Abraham\u2019s youngest brother Haran\u2019s death was to have for billions to this day. I can imagine that prior to his passing away, that life was going on as usual; they had married and had children, and just like today, were busy with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. But something happened to Terah, Abraham\u2019s father, after his son died, as in verse 31 tells us, \u201cAnd Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram\u2019s wife, and they went forth together to go from Ur of the Chaldeans in order to enter the land of Canaan: but when they got to Haran (town), they settled there. So it is with countless people who have gone into completely different directions, after tragedy struck, to impact their generation for Eternity; some for good and some, sad to say, not so good.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It was here, after the death of his father, who had taken him away from his familiar surroundings that Abraham first heard from the Lord. How often do we also find the riches of God\u2019s favor and Presence, after He permits us to be found in a very narrow place, usually filled with tears and pain? <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In Hosea 2: 14: we read the Lord speaking, saying, \u201cTherefore I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak kindly to her. Then I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor (pain, trouble) as a door of hope (and expectation). And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, as in the days when she came up from the land of Egypt (world system). What a beautiful portrait of the Lord\u2019s compassion, knowing that in the loneliness of the wilderness, people are more apt to seek Him, and be given songs to sing.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Psalm 40: 1 – 3 + 16: says, \u201cI waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay; and He set my feet upon a Rock making my footsteps firm. And He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust the Lord. Let all who seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; let those who love Thy Salvation say continually, \u201cThe Lord be magnified!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Romans 8: 37: tells us, \u201cBut in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him (Jesus) Who loved us.\u201d Philippians 4: 13: says, \u201cI can do all things through Him (Jesus) Who strengthens me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank you so much for Your Grace and Strength that has seen us through our lifetime. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and bring understanding of Your Eternal plan of Salvation to all those who are caught in the suffering of their earthly losses. Come and bring peace to their minds, as You alone can, as the Prince of Peace; that they be able to cast upon You all their painful memories, and may be able to receive Your thoughts and ways to penetrate their heart. Come with Your Presence, which brings life and hope, and renew for Thy Glory! Glory to You alone!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
