There is much to be said all through the Word of God about the power of agreement and unity. It is a principle that has to be recognized before any goal is set, and it applies to every area of life. One only has to look at sports for an example; the relationship between a coach and his team, or that of the rowing members in a race; all have to be in synch for the best possible result, and the hope of a win.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus is very specific when He speaks about this subject, as He makes His Father God and Himself the focal point on which people have to come in agreement in order to have complete and overcoming victory in life\u2019s journey. He says of the unity of a man and a woman in Matthew 19: 6: \u201cConsequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.\u201d The emphasis being that what God has joined together becomes a unity, and a source of victory for the pair, by drawing and bringing from the Lord their individual contributions to make their bond stronger.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Jesus further speaks to us in Matthew 18: 19: \u201cAgain I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father Who is in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in their midst.\u201d The magnitude of this verse could never be fully understood by our finite minds; that Jesus comes in the midst of a couple, or group of people, when their intent is to meet in His Name for the purpose of prayer. Jesus says in Matthew 21: 21 – 22: \u201cTruly I say to you, if you have the faith, and do not doubt, you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, \u201cBe taken up and be cast into the sea,\u201d it shall happen. And all things that you ask in prayer, believing you shall receive.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0In Luke 18:1: we read Jesus saying to the disciples, \u201cNow He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart.\u201d Here we can see very clearly the emphasis and importance that Jesus places on the power of unity, and coming together in agreement of prayer; it is to be a personal choice for a continuous daily way of life. In verses 7 – 8 Jesus says, \u201cNow shall not God bring about justice for His elect, who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Psalm 22: 24: \u201cFor He (God) has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has he hidden His Face from him; but when he cried to Him for help, He heard.” Luke 1: 37: \u201cFor nothing shall be impossible with God.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so very much for the riches in Glory which we have in You, and which we have not even begun to grasp. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and enlarge the scope of our understanding to the greatness of the Truth of Your Word. Fill us afresh with a greater measure of faith, that we may be found trustworthy, faithful, and pleasing in Thy Sight.
