The Lord gave me a song from this verse above several years back, as we traveled back and forth to Church. In 1 Thessalonians 5: 16 – 19: it says, \u201cRejoice always; pray without ceasing; in all things give thanks; for this is God\u2019s will for you in Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n I<\/span><\/span><\/span>n Colossians 3: 23: it says, \u201cWhatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than men.\u201d I remember as a very young Christian, that because of a sense of inadequacy I had to fast for several days before I could go out and sing. Fasting is still part of my life, but my primary focus is on discernment for the Lord\u2019s will. The Lord brought much healing to me by letting me know that He had called me to sing unto Him, and not unto an audience. He showed me that His song within my heart sung by faith unto the Lord, is the witness that the humble, broken, and contrite need to hear, so that they in turn might be edified and rejoice.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n If God has seen me through by His Grace and Mercy, He is also able to see anyone else through whatever situation that might come their way. No man lives unto himself, and all of us need the witness of someone who will strengthen us to go on. I personally found strength throughout my life from the testimonies and songs of several Gospel singers, family members, friends and many great Preachers. Some of the witnesses have been from song writers of past centuries, who still affect myriads today.\u00a0 These people kept on going and singing, in spite of a barrage of opposition facing them; some for their entire lifetime. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Once, while invited to lead in praise on a Christmas Eve, my mike was deliberately turned off, and kept off, even after the Senior Pastor motioned to have it turned back on. I just kept on singing, and felt sorry that deception had somehow crept in to such a degree into a person\u2019s heart, as to undermine authority, and the move of the Holy Spirit. I am so thankful to the Lord that I was not in turn deceived to let un-forgiveness and hardness of heart within my heart, so that my song witness would be rendered null and void. 2 Corinthians 6: 3 + 4a: says, \u201cGiving no cause for offense (or taking offense) in anything, in order that the Ministry may not be discredited, but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance\u2026.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: thank You so much for Your Keeping Power. Thank You for Your Grace that is always sufficient for us, and all who will not be side-tracked into error. I pray for the weak and the defenseless, that have no one to fight for their cause, and that are lorded over by the hardhearted of this world. I pray for all the victims of intimidation, and those who suffer from grave injustices all around the world, especially in the Body of Jesus Christ. Come by Your Holy Spirit, and bring comfort to those who need to be lifted up, edified, and affirmed in Your Love today.
