This Scripture written a few thousand years ago underscores that no man lives unto himself. Even if we do not know some of our neighbors, it is obvious that they can still see what we do, and what we stand for by the consistencies in our lives. And, it goes both ways; we are able to guide others to righteousness, or lead them astray into error, and possible destruction. What an awesome responsibility is given us in this time frame in which we are allotted to live. Obviously everyone has a free choice, and as is mentioned, we can either guide in the right direction, or lead astray. But one\u2019s influence is the gift (or detriment) we are given to affect time, people, and change.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nWhen we take careful inventory of how we choose to live our lives, we may see evidence of what influence we truly have. 1 Corinthians 1: 26 – 27a and 29 and 30 says, \u201cFor consider your calling brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; for God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise\u2026that no man should boast before God. But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, Who became to us Wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.\u201d So, with these words, we know that our only righteousness is found in Jesus, and true influence comes from His life within. 1 John 4: 9 says, \u201cBy this the Love of God was manifested in us, that God sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: Thank you for this wonderful gift of a new day and life we are given today. May You come by Your Holy Spirit and enlighten us to the possibilities of righteous influence we have for those You send our way. May we not miss any opportunity because of feelings of inadequacies, or not wanting to impose. Thank You that through Your Grace and mercy You became to us the only way, truth, and life that leads all to eternal righteousness (John 14: 6).
