In verse 1 we read, \u201cNow faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of things (we) hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality (faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses). Most of us live in one way or another depending on what we see, hear, feel, or touch, as well as what we may perceive, whether the perception is real or false. Very few rely on the very core of the only Source which brings stability and assurance, which is, God\u2019s Word embedded in our hearts and which produces faith. My own personal way of seeing things may not always be aligned with what the Lord speaks to me in one given situation or another.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n I also often revert to clinging to the Lord\u2019s Word when I am not able to discern or understand which course to take. Romans 10: 17 says, \u201cSo Faith comes (to me) by hearing (what is told) and hearing by the Word of Christ (Jesus the Messiah). Even when I am acquainted with the words Jesus speaks to me in the Bible; I must choose His Words to take precedence over all in order for me to remain assured of His promises. Believing that God is, and then believing that I can rest all that concerns me upon Him, gives me the assurance that He undertakes to work things out for all I place in His Hands.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n When I read in Psalms 33: 9, \u201cFor He spoke and it was done; He commanded and it stood fast\u201d, I can bring every situation to conform to the Lord\u2019s authority, purpose and plan. In Psalms 37: 7a, we read, \u201cBe still and rest in the Lord: wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him. My willingness to obey His directives will determine the level of steadfastness I have in my life. It is not always easy, but it is always sure. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 1 Peter 1: 7 says, \u201cSo that (the genuineness) of your faith may be tested, (your faith) which is infinitely more precious than perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. (The proving of your faith is intended) to rebound to (your) praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed.\u201d Verses 8 and 9 say, \u201cWithout having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not even now see Him, you believe in Him and exalt and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy. (At the same time) you receive as the result (outcome, consummation) of your faith, the salvation of your souls.\u201d The ultimate reward! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: Thank you for perseverance under trials, and times of waiting when we cannot see clearly the path before us. Thank you that the words You speak are sufficient, which You also perform. Psalm 32: 8 assures us, \u201cI (the Lord) will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My Eye upon you.\u201d May we, by Your Holy Spirit, unroll all that concerns us upon You that we may know Your Holy Sabbath rest within.
