Isaiah 54: 10 says, “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My loving kindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says the Lord who has compassion on you.” The old Hymn, “On Christ the Solid Rock I stand” comes to mind just now. We hear daily of people who have placed their life savings and trust in real estate, business, mutual funds, and even worse, in family and friends, only to turn around and see everything wiped out from under them. I cannot fathom going through life without the Anchor Jesus is to me; <\/em>let alone knowing the loss of all things, and not having the Solid Rock of Who He is support me in times of devastation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Psalms 32: 6 says, “Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; surely in a flood of great waters they shall not reach him.” Isaiah 55: 6 and 7 says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteousness man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him; and to our God for He will abundantly pardon,” Notice, that there is no doubt that if one comes to the Lord, the result is immediate with complete mercy and compassion. Even the godly is cautioned to seek the Lord before the great troubled waters assail. The common denominator to these last two texts is to come to the Lord for help, while the coming is good. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Many convince themselves that there will be enough time to surrender their lives completely to the Lord when they get older, only to find that life can be cut short so quickly. Hebrews 4:\u00a0 7 says, “He again fixes a certain day, “Today”, saying through David after so long a time, just as has been said before, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” 2 Peter 3: 15a says, “And regard the patience of the Lord to be Salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6: 1\u00a0 says, ” And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain- for He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of Salvation, I have helped you. (Isaiah 49: 8)”; behold, now is “The acceptable time,” behold now is “The Day of Salvation.” <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Dearest Holy Lord Jesus: Thank You for the overwhelming love and compassion which You have toward Your creation. Thank You for the great respect which You have for all our individual choices, and that You would not impose Your will on any. Thank You that we have “today” in which to run to You for mercy and salvation, where so many have perished in the past, because they did not take advantage of the gift set before them. Quicken myriads by Your precious Holy Spirit of the lateness of times in which we live, that they may swiftly run to Your sheltering Arms, and thus be preserved from the wrath to come, and worse, eternal destruction.
