If I am going to undertake anything that is challenging, and I overcome, I can then tell you without the shadow of a doubt, that if it worked for me, by applying the same principles, it will also definitely work for you. In the same way with sufferings, as varied as they may be, if my testimony is that the Lord has seen me through, and He certainly has (and does), He will also most certainly see you through. And it goes without saying that it also applies to comfort. In all the trials that I have endured, and have been comforted by the Lord, throughout my life, I eventually met thousands who needed the reassurance that He was there for them in the same capacity of the God of all comfort. That is why it is so important to endure, because somewhere down the road, someone we know, or will meet, will need to hear our testimony of how the Lord’s mercy and grace comforted us in our time of need. In verse 3 – 5: we read, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we are comforted by God.
