As long as I can remember, I have needed to cast my own understanding on to the Lord. If I want to know that I trust the Lord implicitly, I just have to look at where my thoughts have been. I have often said that, “a thought is just a thought, until you dwell on it long enough, then it becomes an imagination. Then, if I dwell on that imagination so long that it gets a hold on me, it can very well become a stronghold.” God is so good to have given us so much wisdom through His Word, and through His faithful servants who trusted Him and wrote the Holy Scriptures for us. He allowed us to have His Word as provision even before we lived, so that we would not have to be slaves to our own ways and understandings. Deuteronomy 8: 3 says, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but on everything that proceeds out of the Mouth of God.” Psalms 119: 105, it says, “God’s Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” In John 1: 1 we read, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” In verse 14, we read these powerful words, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, Glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of Grace and Truth.” As we ask Jesus to come and live within by faith, we…
